Zoe Kosovic is a young actress hailing from Canada whose star is quickly on the rise. She’s cultivating quite the resume, with on-screen credits including The Smashing Machine opposite Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt and the upcoming Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey alongside Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen.

Now, Zoe is starring in her biggest role yet in Reminders of Him as the daughter of Maika Monroe’s Kenna Rowan. Zoe brings warmth, charm, and emotional intelligence as Diem Landry and serves as the light within the film’s emotional core. Recently, I had the privilege of chatting with Zoe about working on this movie and what she hopes viewers feel after watching it.

This interview is edited for clarity.

Eulalie Magazine: First of all, I want to congratulate you on Reminders of Him. That’s such a huge achievement. I want to start by asking what you love about acting.

Zoe Kosovic: Probably getting to do scenes, and I like [it] when I book, too. I get to play pretend.

Eulalie Magazine: How did you feel when you learned that you were gonna be in this movie?

Zoe Kosovic: I felt really happy because I really wanted to film another scene in Calgary, ’cause I already filmed another movie in Calgary before this one. I really like Calgary.

Eulalie Magazine: That’s awesome. How are you similar to your character, Diem Landry, in the movie?

Zoe Kosovic: Both of our favorite colors are yellow. And I love cowboy boots. Diem does love cowboy boots a lot, too. I wear my cowboy boots every day. And one time in this scene, I didn’t wanna wear cleats to baseball, so I wore my cowboy boots like Diem does. Diem also likes dogs. I like dogs, too. And she’s fun and silly.

Eulalie Magazine: She’s fun and silly? Are you fun and silly?

Zoe Kosovic: Yes!

Practical Advice

Eulalie Magazine: What was it like getting to be on set with actors like Bradley Whitford and Lauren Graham? Did you learn anything from them?

Zoe Kosovic: Have fun and pretend like you’re not acting.

Eulalie Magazine: That’s good advice. What was your favorite part about making this movie?

Zoe Kosovic: Nana (Graham), Nono (Whitford), Tyriq [Withers], and my mommy (Monroe) [were all] in a scene. It’s my favorite scene. I like when I got to pick up a turtle, too.

Eulalie Magazine: I bet that was so cool. What do you hope audiences feel after they watch this movie?

Zoe Kosovic: I hope they feel happy. And that people should get a second chance.
