The Hunger Games, the brutal event that changed the world forever, is making its grand return with one of its iconic characters: Haymitch.
Lionsgate released the official trailer for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, which releases in theaters on November 20.
As one of this year’s most anticipated movies, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping looks to go all out for Haymitch’s story. Along with a few returning franchise characters, fans can expect much more action.

Based on Suzanne Collins’ most recent novel, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping follows a teenage Haymitch after being selected for the 50th Hunger Games. Much like Katniss Everdeen, he isn’t happy with what’s going down in the Capitol.
The trailer sees Haymitch preparing for the Hunger Games, which has continually expanded since the events of The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbird and Snakes. From the addition of more tributes to a bigger arena, the physical odds are stacked against him.
However, Haymitch also has his own personal mission: Haymitch hopes to reunite with Lenore Dove Baird, his girlfriend and Covey Caravan member. Snow taunts Haymitch about this, seemingly reminded by his own experiences with Lucy Gray Baird.
Fortunately or unfortunately, there are some people in Haymitch’s corner willing to help him. From the enigmatic Effie Trinket to his District 12 partner Maysilee Donner, Haymitch must learn to work with others or face the Games alone.

Joseph Zada takes the role of Haymitch Abernathy, who was previously played by Woody Harrelson in the main Hunger Games films.
In addition to Zada, the cast of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping includes Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak, and Kelvin Harrison Jr.
Furthermore, franchise fans can also expect Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson to reprise their roles as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is directed by Francis Lawrence with a screenplay by Billy Ray. The film is produced by Lawrence, Nina Jacobson, and Brad Simpson.
