It is real and back in the spotlight. Camp Rock is making its return.
More details and a release date have been announced for Disney’s latest franchise revival, Camp Rock 3. The film, which is said to “showcase the next generation of rock stars taking center stage,” is executive-produced by the original stars of the franchise, Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, Kevin Jonas, and Demi Lovato.

Off the heels of the original film’s 18-year anniversary, the company teases romance, drama, and big performances in its latest announcement as the film closes out the summer.
With an August premiere date now set in stone, here’s everything you need to know about the film, including who is new and returning, the film’s plot, and when/where you can tune in and stream.
Release Date and Where to Watch
Camp Rock 3 is set to premiere on Disney Channel on August 13 and on Disney+ the following day (August 14). Past premieres have indicated that the movie will probably premiere on the channel on 8/7 EST, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Story and Setting

Camp Rock 3 finds the Connect 3, now grown up, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to find their next opening act and the next big artist, a nod to the original film, which followed a similar competition structure.
The official teaser also offers glimpses of big performances, a budding romance, and the expectation of looking back at callbacks. The first is one initiated by Calie (Brooklynn Pitts), who tells everyone to grab their mics and hats (a reference to the infamous dance-class scene led by Joe Jonas in the first movie).
The official synopsis reads as follows:
When Connect 3 loses their opening act for a major reunion tour, they return to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise, and friendships are tested – leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances.
While not featured in the teaser, the film reportedly centers on a brother and sister, Sage (Liamani Segura) and Desi (Hudson Stone), as they compete for the opening-act spot. But Sage may find herself under the influence of camp bad boy, Fletch (Malachi Barton).
Cast and Characters
New campers include Liamani Segura (Sage), who has been in various franchise projects for the company, including High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and will also star in Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, which premieres this July. Co-lead Malachi Barton (Fletch) has also worked on various Disney projects, including Stuck in the Middle, the Under Wraps film reboot, and, most recently, taking over as lead for the Zombies franchise.
Others joining the franchise are Lumi Pollack (Rosie), Sherry Cola (Lark), Hudson Stone (Desi), Casey Trotter (Cliff), Brooklynn Pitts (Callie) and Ava Jean (Madison).
Camp Rock 3 will feature returning cast members Joe Jonas (Shane Gray), Nick Jonas (Nate Gray), Kevin Jonas (Jason Gray) and Maria Canals-Barrera (Connie) in their respective roles. Demi Lovato is executive producing the movie, but it is unknown whether she will appear in the film itself, though she was on set.
Creative Team and Production

Camp Rock 3 is directed by Veronica Rodriguez and written by Eydie Faye. The film features choreography by Jamal Sims, whose work has appeared in the Hannah Montana movie, the 2026 anniversary special, and the theatrical film, Stop! That! Train!.
The film is one of the first productions released under the “Disney Kids & Family” brand (which replaced Disney Branded Television in June 2026).
In addition to Jonas and Lovato, the film is executive produced by Tim Federle (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman and Gary Marsh, with a special thanks to Alan Sacks for his contribution to the Camp Rock franchise.
