Musician Jason Mraz is allowing fans the opportunity to go behind the scenes of his latest album ‘Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride.’ The album came out earlier this month.
As he kicks off his tour for the new album, fans can watch Unwrapped Radio: Jason Mraz on HSN+ to front row seat to an intimate soundcheck (including a special holiday-inspired acoustic performance). The special also includes personal interviews and stories from Mraz.
Mraz has been making music for more than twenty years, but ‘Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride,’ is his first pop album.
Jason Mraz on the new album:
“I would say the soul of this new album is one of a beginner. It’s almost a soul that’s just been born. This is gonna sound crazy but like we somehow arrive on this earth with gifts and with intuition and things we like, things we’re attracted to, and so I think a soul definitely comes into the world already with, like, a little plan or agenda, but it still has to learn and go through a whole process to become the soul that everyone knows,” Mraz stated.
“This album, while coming into the world with a lot of experience, I feel like this album is a brand-new expression. I just feel like I’m starting over. I don’t know why. So, this album feels like a brand new soul.”
On his musical legacy:
On the legacy of his music, Mraz said, “I’ve always strived with my albums that you don’t need to know who Jason Mraz is to like the music.”
“I always just hope that the music — because here’s the other thing — one day, the music will be carrying on and I won’t be. Right? It’s the same way we dig through records and we find a record that somebody made sixty years ago and you fall in love with it. You don’t know who that person was. So, I hope people just listen with an open heart and can find a place for it in their lives.”
‘Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride’ is available now.
