It’s often terrible to lose the ones you love, but what happens when you forget who you are? That’s what director Nicolas Winding Refn seeks to investigate in his latest film, Her Private Hell.
Neon has unveiled the first teaser for Her Private Hell, which is set to release in theaters on July 24. The futuristic horror-thriller previously had its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Nicolas Winding Refn’s newest film explores what it’s like to fit into a world unlike any other as Thatcher’s Elle tries to do so. However, not everything looks so grand and beautiful when the truth gets revealed.
Her Private Hell follows two different characters whose journeys to reunite with their lost relatives collide. Thatcher’s Elle wants to live the high life with a group of affluent individuals. Unfortunately, she’s hesitant to do what’s necessary to join their ranks.
Everything doesn’t go as expected for Elle when a mysterious mist engulfs everything and unleashes a terrifying entity in this metropolis. However, this has given her the opportunity to look for her father, who’s also lost in the fog.
In the meanwhile, Melton’s Private K tries to investigate what’s happening in this city, leading him down a path of darkness and mistrust. What ensues is a creepily cryptic mystery that he must solve before he can be transformed by this entity.
Together, the two try to join forces to find Elle’s father and K’s daughter from this hellish landscape that’s laid out before them.
In addition to Sophie Thatcher and Charles Melton, the cast also includes Kristine Froseth, Havana Rose Liu, and Diego Calva.
Her Private Hell is directed and produced by Nicolas Winding Refn. The upcoming film is written by Refn and Esti Giordani.
