Biblical based TV series and movies are having a moment.
With the monumental successes of The Chosen and House of David, as well as the highly anticipated mockumentary The Promised Land, more and more biblical based content is being produced.
One such show in the works is The Solomon Saga. Here’s everything we know so far and what viewers can expect.

Starring Luke Dimyan, Chloe Avakian, and Erick Avari, The Solomon Saga will first premiere as a short film to introduce viewers to the world and characters of the limited series. Serving as a launchpad for a bigger project, the film is complete, and a release date and platform are pending.
Dimyan is credited with writing the pilot episode of the series. Currently in development, the pilot is set to be filmed in early 2026, according to an August 14 social media post.
Dimyan and Avari are two alums of The Chosen, playing Judas and the Pharisee Nicodemus, respectfully. Here, they will be portraying King Solomon (Dimyan) and his father, King David (Avari).
We’re looking forward to seeing the good side of Dimyan after his character, Judas Iscariot, ended The Chosen Season 5 by betraying Jesus. Some comments on social media are a bit unkind toward Dimyan, but it is important to separate the artist from the art.
And what better way for him to shed the ‘Judas’ image than by portraying one of the most famous kings from the Old Testament?

Along with his immense wisdom, King Solomon is most known for building the first temple in Jerusalem; in clips shared from the film, we can see David urging Solomon to build the temple.
From other teasers posted to social media, The Solomon Saga film may present the death of the elderly David, as well as Solomon grappling with the loss. From still shot shared online, Chloe Avakian’s character Devorah, also known as Avishag, appears to be tending to the ailing King David.
When one Instagram commentor asked who from the Bible she might be, the social media team responded, “The character is based on the biblical Avishag (spelled Abishag in some texts). She cared for King David in his last days. In our film King Solomon gives her the nickname ‘Devorah.'”
Just from the short clips already shared online, we can tell each actor is giving this their all, and each performance is guaranteed to be an emotional powerhouse. Complete with brilliant costume and set design, this may be the next biblical epic.
From other images shared to socials, it looks like some of The Chosen set has been repurposed for The Solomon Saga, though this series is separate from the growing Chosen cinematic universe. It’s brought to us by Sovereign Productions and DolGer Films, but a future collaboration between the two entities is certainly not out of the question.

This is Sylvia Caminer’s directorial debut; she’s also credited as a producer. Previously, Caminer served as a producer on Samantha Brown’s Places to Love, Follow Her, and An Affair of the Heart. Brad Lange is credited as a creator and executive producer of The Solomon Saga, according to IMDb.
Avakian is set to star in other upcoming projects, including the mini series Devil In Disguise: John Wayne Gacy, and has previously appeared in the TV series Locke & Key and Near or Far.
Erick Avari has an impressive resume; in addition to The Chosen, he’s been in a multitude of movies like The Mummy, Mr. Deeds, and Stargate. Meanwhile, Dimyan has also made appearances in shows like Better Things and Home Invasion.
